What he is saying is that if standing against Trump on principle results in Clinton getting elected, its still a principled stance. In other words, if his choice is voting for Trump to stop Hillary or not voting for Trump and Hillary wins, he will chose to not vote for Trump and fight Hillary later.
My guess is that he will write someones name in or not vote at all for president.
