    Desmond Tutu is dead

    "Tutu underwent the surgical procedure 10 days ago to address the cause of recurring infections resulting from past treatment received for prostate cancer, but was readmitted on Saturday and he passed on this morning."

    He was an outspoken opponent of apartheid, South Africa’s former system of white minority rule, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984.

    We sympathize with his family during this time as South Africa has lost a great personality.

              He and Mandela seemed to live good lives, scandal-free. I have great respect for them both.
