    Tattoos are the current fad.

I think oftentimes they are applied with no long term thought.

[I think also, that very dark skinned individuals should not get them].

Anyway, yesterday a young lady came in the Store. She worked at the Optical business next door.

She had a black bandage on her fore-arm. I asked what was wrong with her arm. She said that she has to cover her tattoo. Office policy.

What do you think? Should she be allowed to display her body art?

      I agree with you.

      Appearance counts for something...

I would have reservations hiring an attorney with tattoos up his neck; or a surgeon with tats all over his hands. Of course this does not determine skill level................

Someone posted a piece based on school admission and hair grooming. Same outlook.

I also agree with that policy.

I saw a first year law student gent a prowling large black panther tattoo with the head and law ending up in her cleavage. At an end of year formal with judges and prominent attorneys her tastefully low cut dinner dress showed the tattoo and I watched the reaction of staff and guests alike but more importantly her own reaction of embarrassment .... What was she thinking? After that nothing but high necked blouses

There is a steady demand for this service. The demand will steadily increase.

I have a tattoo and have had it for over 20 years....the tattoo artist at the time said that most people who get a tattoo will get another one. I almost did get a second one but heeded that observation ....

My paternal grandmother (a hindu) had tattoos (religious symbols) on her forearm; as a little boy I was fascinated. But it never pushed me to pursue getting one. I suppose that when I was a teen (70s), the trend/fad didn't exist. Today though I see even "big" people getting tattoos and piercings because it's the thing to do. I could never fathom why following the crowd is expressing your individuality... but that's just me.

Temporary tattoos (the art of mehndi) using henna is very popular among hindus, especially the women, for weddings and other celebrations.

All of my children at one time or other have expressed the desire to get a tattoo. I've never encouraged it but rather asked them to think about permanently altering their body. None of them has gotten one yet, at least that I can see LOL.
