  • Hillary's use of the word "half" or "deplorable"?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZHp4JLWjNw

Well...do we consider support for a racist, deplorable?

Do you consider support for someone who thinks the US is not great unthinkable? ...deplorable?

Do you consider support for someone who mocks persons with disability, deplorable?

Do you consider someone who praises the Russian leader and denigrates the US president, deplorable?

Do we consider support for a candidate with little knowledge of how the Federal Government differs from a business unconscionable? ...deplorable?

Do you consider support for someone who denigrates only immigrants who are coloured, deplorable?

So those who support a person with no redeeming quality that would qualify him for the job of president and who is a racist...who is intolerant of any and all others..are not deplorable? OK?...he has no skills applicable to job of president and he has all the disgusting traits of a racist and worse and we are to believe they who support him and his positions and core beliefs are not deplorable?

One thing about Mrs. Clinton's statement it should awaken in all those thinking of voting Trump to 'chek demself' on personal beliefs and moral compass?

Its the kind of statement that is much better coming from a surrogate than the candidate. Never a wise thing for someone running for office to make such sweeping statements about a large number of voters.

I wish to see how it all plays out.
Will those who were considering voting for Trump become resolute on same? ...or will many - a significant number - 'chek demself' and decide we are not racist or xenophobes and switch to Hillary?

Why not put more thought on whether or not Clinton's supporters will be outraged at the comments and switch to Trump? I believe they already fall into a group that coalesce around her stance on the issues that matter to them and are comfortable on knowing selves as not racist or xenophobic.

Do a YouTube search later tonight - I just saw on CNN Trump's African-American claim he is leaning towards Trump but he just needs to work-out who is more racist of the two candidates!

It would have been really hilarious - Everyone on the program, including Trump's African-American, laughed - if it were not so sad! It was more a moment of incredulity.

I would argue that the vast majority of supporters for both candidates have already made up their minds. At this stage of the game its all about the 10% or so, if its even that large, that are persuadable

She is talking the truth. But should not have.

In June a Reuters/Ipsos poll found: “Nearly half of Trump’s supporters described African-Americans as more ‘violent’ than whites. The same proportion described African-Americans as more ‘criminal’ than whites, while 40 percent described them as more ‘lazy’ than whites.”

A Pew poll released in February found that 65 percent of Republicans believe the next president should “speak bluntly even if critical of Islam as a whole” when talking about Islamic extremists.

Another Reuters/Ipsos online poll in July found that 58 percent of Trump supporters have a “somewhat unfavorable” view of Islam and 78 percent believe Islam was more likely to encourage acts of terrorism.

A February Public Policy Polling survey found “Trump’s support in South Carolina is built on a base of voters among whom religious and racial intolerance pervades.” What the poll found about those South Carolina supporters’ beliefs was truly shocking:

            • Eighty percent of likely Trump primary voters supported Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims.

            • Sixty-two percent supported creating a national database of Muslims and 40 percent supported shutting down mosques in the United States.

            • Thirty-eight percent wished the South had won the Civil War.

            • Thirty-three percent thought the practice of Islam should be illegal in this country.

            • Thirty-two percent supported the policy of Japanese internment during World War II.

            • Thirty-one percent would support a ban on homosexuals entering the country.
