  • Yes, Rio, here come the Jamaicans!

The celebration did not end in the stands. It was Gregory Mayne who raised the anthem outside the entrance and suddenly Jamaicans gathered from all corners. The good-natured Nesta Carter joined in the fun. We hugged and screamed, some wrapped in flags, some tooting vuvuzelas.

People from various countries called out, “Jamaica! Can I take a picture with you and your flag?”

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Not to make light of the serious nature of the incident but were it some Jamaicans who were held up at gunpoint in Rio instead of Lochte and other American swimmers, the police would have an easier time finding the culprits. Those folks would have probably put up their selfies with the Jamaicans on Facebook by now.
