Also all the other factors are "environmental" and can be replicated if enough effort is made.......until then, given the magnitude to create that enviroment of poverty, i will laugh !

You acting like a Republican, lol. You are going against overwhelming data and science because the conclusion does not make you feel comfortable.

The beauty about many track and field events is that they are one dimensional or very close to it. Some require top end speed almost exclusively , others endurance, others like the shot putt strength, etc. When you get into team sports or sports that involve multiple dimensions like football and cricket, or even hurdles, the link to a specific body or muscle structure becomes more and more tenuous.

If you want to ignore the data that shows 95+% of the fastest men in the history of the world being of West African descent from perhaps a dozen different nations, carry on. Just realize that you cannot then criticize those who deny the data that shows climate change or the polls that show their favorite political candidate losing by double digits

Poverty is abundant worldwide. There's no special effort required to manifest dat or to motivate folks to escape that condition.... The means to the escape differ from place to place.

For some good reasons track is one of our escape routes

Am I really , Don gave us 8 variables , he conceeds that certain enviroments can be replicated to get the result except one, the gene ! That does not mean to me , that it is a necessary ingredient to be a factor , obviously you two do.

I believe I have made my point ,to put it plainly until we can recreate 400 years of slavery , the cultural enviroment where the masses gravitate to escape poverty through T &F in a caucasian enviroment ,its only a theory (racist one too).

I will point to the early 1900 to 50s Jamaica where poor, middle class white and Afro Jamaicans competed in champs, Manley and Hall both Mulattos ,more so Hall could pass for white , were champion boys @ JC and Champs, it all ended when independence was approaching .White flght saw a decrease in that equation plus the increase in high schools for the poorer masses the majority being black.

I have to side with the author. Please dont tell me about Data, Guilliani, A high % of blacks are in prison does that mean we have an innate criminal or prison gene.

Not sure which point you're supporting here.

            Good point about criminal gene.

Xactly .....thats another question how much % of the gene do you need to be considered west african , is it the 1 drop rule ....lol....racist theory !

I will leave it at this, brazilians consider their football superior because of (samba) africaness, Argentinians will point to anything but Africa to claim superioty.Yet both of these as far as the eye can see , can best each other on a given day. They hate each other cultural identity with football along racist lines !

The common theme is poverty in both cultures , to escape it.

Anyway we going off topic , lata ,maybe not , the theme was always about race.

This theory sounds like one that should probably stay in the Rum Bar

There were runaway slave populations in many places. I have not seen any data that shows modern day Jamaica having a higher concentration of fast twitch in the gene pool than any other West African population.
