A look at the numbers suggests that the country is having the wrong economic debate this year. Employment security won’t come from renegotiating trade deals, as Donald Trump said in a speech Monday in Detroit, or rebuilding infrastructure, as Hillary Clinton argued in Warren, Mich., on Thursday. These are palliatives.

The deeper problem facing the United States is how to provide meaningful work and good wages for the tens of millions of truck drivers, accountants, factory workers and office clerks whose jobs will disappear in coming years because of robots, driverless vehicles and “machine learning” systems.

The future of Black people as the servants of the world was never more bleak since the days of slavery. What we face is becoming IRRELEVANT & EXPENDABLE.

We continue to primarily prepare our people to be servants....in a future where such jobs (if they still exist) will be as valuable as a garbage dump.

Time to START building a generation of MAKERS for our survival. Long time wi si dis an' ah preach it. But people still nuh get it.

If by safe you mean a job that does not change then very few such jobs exist.

The goal should be to have a workforce that is trainable and adaptable to what the economy demands.

The Donald Trump suggestions on bringing back the actual jobs = same companies, same jobs lost is insane.

His suggestions on concept of 'making the best deal (trade deals)' is and always has been bang on.

Hillary Clinton's suggestions on rebuilding/retooling infrastructure and building out same along with new infrastructure is as per Trump's suggestions on negotiating 'best trade deals' walk hand in glove as sensible ideas.

Her additional calls for development in, build out of clean energy pathways is vital.

It is simple: Let us compare Jamaica's pathway to success with the USA's. - For both the largest markets are outside of each country. Putting the people to work tells: Produce goods and services that that outside large market will increasingly gobble up. So that demands producing new abilities to produce current needed goods and services such that each country becomes producer/vendor of choice. So the combination of 'maxing out' on satisfying the local market and increasing market-share of the external market (markets) is it!

If we assume that the foregoing paragraph captures what has to be accomplished then the next logical thought must be how to achieve same. One area that must be in the mix is maximizing on uses of current technologies and the need to consistently develop new technologies that are 'market-place winners'. END OF STORY! - Clinton says she shall take us down that path! Trump? Not a peep!

Aside: Take one area ENERGY?
- Whether to provide that for present uses or new forms of propulsion that shall take us to distance galaxies or new worlds = man's spaceships as per space ship earth to find new homes and sources of raw materials or food production...jobs, jobs, jobs!!!!!

In the 'old days' when a powerful country's economy hit a bump it was, 'go conquer a country'. Open up a new frontier and create markets for the conqueror's goods and services...rape the victim of raw materials and other goods. Start a war and rev up the home country's industrial war complex/machine and the demand for goods and services. ....create jobs!

Today the new frontier is STEM offshoots. The other part of the war is in the shadows - stealing technology...exchange diplomatic outposts and gather information = spying. ...use the information to out-work the country stolen from... So how did the Russian's combat planes incorporate US technology and tweek it by addition and subtraction as appropriate and end up with a superior combat aircraft? ...and why would anyone thing that e-mails and communication of US members of Congress are not in the possession of other super and not so super powers...and their's not held by the US?

...said it a long time past, Hillary's emails cannot be erased...it is held somewhere outside of her orbit. ...and what is in communication files of each others of the US power-brokers? The information is somewhere outside of their control. So are the GOP politicians treading on thin ice and not so much for themselves but what a tit for tat would do the 'faith' in politicians and US and other government institutions?

...so while the super powers and not so super powers follow 'the trails' of Wikileaks network or networks...what is the end-game? A slew of persons and organisations mysteriously going 'dead'? It just takes a little imagination...or someone who grew up on comics to think on 'how our world works'...and what could be in the works for the future? Right?

Where is the balance on fairness...doing for the people v doing for self (selves)? Who really believes all get as fair a shot as possible in lift or who believes only some are deserving of a fair shot...say, whites over blacks, or richer v poorer, or middle-class and upwards v below middle-class?

Let us go real dark?
Is there a group that is moving towards deciding who is expendible?
Who lives and who needs to be erased as our space-ship is finite on space and resources? ...and thus can best support only a finite number of living souls to best allow for mankind's continuous existence with optimum living = near perfect conditions?

The technology is here right now. Look at the IDE for Java; it corrects (or let's say catch) some of the errors in your code. Now put Watson with say Eclipse (IDE) and what do you see. Give Watson access to all source code (good and bad) then ask for for the best and most efficient code.

The punch line is; I know there exists in the US a superior AI to Watson Trust me the above statement says a lot.

Now on the physical therapy side; it would take some complex math to give say Ms Sagnia or Ms Fernandez the right rub down. These everyday things we (humans) do and take for granted is a set of complicated math.

Skynet needs about another eighty or so years to build a robot than can give physical therapy to humans

What is the pay-off?

Can...when shall machines give us that pay-off?
Will there come a time when 'there are no worlds left to conquer?

Somewhere in the answer to those questions lie the path to follow...right?

Because we are woefully underrepresented in those fields , In both academia and industry.

Because I look at the evidence....i.e. DATA. Not supposition or emotionalism

Or are you affirming the fact that Blacks are woefully behind in those success factors....and wondering why?

The answer is clear....BAD CULTURE. ..Too much playing, spending, serving, profiling, dancing, singing, shooting, looting & yappin....and following Babylon media rubbish & propaganda.

Too little saving, investing, working collectively and creating valuable products via science.
