    The Stuart Hall Project

    Stuart McPhail Hall, FBA (3 February 1932 – 10 February 2014) was a Jamaican-born cultural theorist, political activist and sociologist who lived and worked in the United Kingdom from 1951. Hall, along with Richard Hoggart and Raymond Williams, was one of the founding figures of the school of thought that is now known as British Cultural Studies or The Birmingham School of Cultural Studies.[1]

                      Like I have said. Tek dem picture long time. The ultimate irony is that because he is light skinned (whatever that means) he will be listened to. Check Marcus Mosiah Garvey first and then you will appreciate true genius and critical thinking. " to my mind the greatest Jamaican to have lived was Marcus Mosiah Garvey-- Edward Philip George Seaga". Deal with that Johnny and fellow critical thinkers.

                        Hall answers all those questions head on,without shame,skin color,class ,he states in the documentary his mother rejected his sister love of a black doctor which drove her crazy ,the family or parents had his sister undergo electro therapy (ECT) a form of electrical shock to the brain outlawed since IDK .He questions the colonial schizophrenia as I have DX it in all of us.To be fair to the Johnnys' and HLs' all of us have a stain of it and it is an eternal struggle for us to live with it as individuals,families and friends.

                        Hall was way before his time,to me the Marcus Garvey of cultural studies,what he did in the 50s the windbrush period was advocate for people of color in an academic way as to why they belonged in Britain and should be accepted with their cultural peculiarities.

                        He was grabbed on a whim to present or defend that cause on the BBC ( a national program) at a time when resentment was brewing in the 50 to 60s and erupted in the 70s.

                        He never wilted ,I applaud the man.I read in the Jamaican papers ask, where is Jamaicas Obama,well he migrated to england in the late 50s.

                        Stuart Hall ,i doubt Jamaicans know how much he shaped the left,not just in Britain but the world.

                        How Hall would have tackled the ganja shitstem,the rigged party shitstem ,etc.Then again he might have ended up like Manley.
