Isn't there a reason why the tourist trade in Jamaica does not attract the best and brightest graduates at all levels in Jamaica?. Maybe they are too informed to participate in their own personal pseudoenslavement or in the modern disguised recolonization of their country.

which industry is the highest paying industry in Jamaica right now???
If you are a taxi driver in the tourism industry, your income is more than the regular, same thing if you are a waiter, bank teller etc.

I don't see you championing the wages of teachers and even people in the technology and BPO field who are making less than tourism workers.

Again tourism is not the problem, but I can't help you, it is in your mind.

Again show me any theory to suggest crime in Mobay is a result of tourism.

But Sass, this is not due to the high wages of tourist workers but due to the artificially low wages of teachers etc. It reflects the screwed up priorities of our so called leaders.

That is exactly the point. If wages in general were higher then tourism workers in general would be getting higher wages. The hoteliers take advantage of lower wages just like any other business in Jamaica. The fault lies in government policies. A lot the government can do to change this.

What you call Butch, Joe Issa, Butch Hendrickson and Byles. All in the tourism industry.Many brilliant people, for example writers, language and business oriented people in tourism. When it comes to the art, some of our best including Bob Andy, Harold Butler, AJ Brown,Luciano to name a few had extended stint in Hotels.
