charge didn't sit well with me. What about those who are actually innocent? Aren't we all aware of the incompetence of the JCF? I didn't like that proposal from the AG. Listening to MONS last evening, explain how a man on a murder charge was granted bail, and while out committed a double murder. Charged and granted bail again .... he kept on killing ... killing a total of 6 people including his own mother. Now I understand why they are taking this position .... but I still think some discretion should be exercised by the judges ... but no bail for an individual who may be innocent? Damn.

And that's the danger in the AG's plan to deny the people some of its rights as we tackle this crime monster. If our police wasn't so corrupt and murderous, I would not have a problem with the idea of looking at what we need to do differently, even at the expense of some of our rights.
By any legal means necessary, we must win this war!

I am not even sure if she is fulfilling her obligations with such a proposal, besides a message is being sent to our JCF by INDECOM,and her proposal is not helpful to that cause(abridging rights..).
Personally,I think press releases from the JCF should factor investigation being done by INDECIM,I am mindful if the erroneous report propagated recently by the Deputy Commissioner.

If the state charges someone with murder they should not be bailed period in my book. Especially not in Jamaica. The granting of bail has nothing to do with innocence. Bail should be a function of the gravity of the crime, potential threat to the community, the possibility of flight risk etc. not innocence. Innocence is proven in court. I know of no other serious country where those charged with 1st. degree murder are granted bail. Madness. I am logging on to the prosperity on this one. Gwan Malaloo mi say.
