A hotel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica from the Spanish-language group has advertised in Jamaican newspapers today for maintenance manager, accounting clerk, purchasing clerk and an engineer. The ad says all applicants must speak Spanish FLUENTLY. Since these positions are not primarily customer service jobs, and since Jamaica is still an English-speaking country, isn't this language requirement an unreasonable expectation? Not even Christopher Columbus who sailed for Spain may have spoken fluent Spanish as he was Italian. Come on amigos, wake up! If you are operating in Jamaica, y'all need to go learn some English, and a little Jamaican Creole wouldn't hurt either.
