  • Before the Development comes the Discipline

<In 1964 and 1966, the transformational leader of Singapore, Lee Kwan Yew, visited Africa and met with a cross section of African leaders. In his memoirs "From Third World to First: The Singapore story" He reveals his impressions about African leaders, with particular emphasis on Nigeria and Ghana. Comparing what he saw with the level of puritanisic discipline he had enforced in his own country, he concluded about African leaders "these were a set of people dancing to a different tune"

Before we talk about achieving the kind of development Singapore achieved in thirty years, we must first talk about attaining the level of discipline they attained. Before the development, came the discipline.>
