Buses packed with Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters were stoned on at least three occasions on Sunday night.
The RJR News Centre has confirmed that the buses were stoned in Mineral Heights Clarendon as the supporters journeyed from a mass meeting in Mandeville, Manchester.
Several persons were reportedly injured during the attacks.
JLP Leader Bruce Golding, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles stoned, condemned the incident.
“It’s part of the dirty side of the politics that we really have to expunge. There’s no need for this. We are having a meeting and people should be free to go. If the PNP are having a meeting they should be free to go without any molestation,” said Mr. Golding.
“We have to work at it and keep working at it. We’ve made some good strides to bring stability to our politics we just have to continue working to get rid of the last vestiges of politics that have no place in a modern democracy,” he continued.
