I did a Wiki search about the song and I see where they had its genre as "Rock".

Which part a dat song is rock? The song is pure reggae of the finest quality. I guess it is the brilliant Walsh-Felder electric guitar piece, huh. But how is that different from Bob Marley and the Wailer's Concrete Jungle, with Wayne Perkins lighting up the electrics? Do we call Concrete Jungle a rock song?

Really time we start to taking ownership of wi tings.

Hotel California is a monster shot! I told some American friends this is really a reggae song, until I said that they never ever thought that and some thought that was the craziest thing to say, maybe it would be like a yank saying redemption song is folk music!!
