Ska is no longer being made in Jamaica

Why take ownership of something that the self appointed Jamaican elite considers lower class
Better to wait until Eurocentric powers that be see the art , quality etc. Prime Jamaican example : Robert Nesta Marley.

Gamma to me its all tied into laws about governance,if we have such laws that stiffle and belittle how we express ourselves, then what are the ramifications on other venues of expression, how do we respect our culture, elders, music, history, how do we promote it.Progressive ideas will be trampled on.

As MLK said subjugation of liberty anywhere affects us all,we lost ska and other genres because of this.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

          Huh?!

What law stifles and belittles how we express ourselves linguistically?

And that is the problem. Is Jazz dead and buried? Is classical music dead and buried? How about big band?

Jazz and classical music has evolved. They do so by catering to their niche by concerts and festivals,we don't.
