    yeah, you have to make choices. I look at my friend son why was a very good rec player and still is as oppose to most of the academy players and there is a stark difference with knowing the game, making run, movement and playing a full game.

        Good observations. I actually see nothing wrong with a kid memorising tables. What you need to make sure is that she understands that multiplication is a quick way to add up numbers.

          I agree that the concepts are what is important. Its not that i think memorizing them is wrong, more that the need for doing it is on the way to becoming obsolete. A lot of the things we used to have to memorize are now available in seconds from the big computer brain in the cloud.

          Granted we are not quite at the stage yet where everyone who wants or needs it has that access but we are getting there.

            Never let up on play time. Well your boys are already in soccer, so that's good.

              yes but the soccer they are playing is not "kick ball". For most part it is structured. Sometimes I stay an extra 15 or 20 minutes at the field just to make them have fun.
