  • Jamaicas election....chances of the JLP winning?

I had been hearing for a while that the JLP was finding it extremely difficult to raise money for their campaign, as the big spenders mostly wanted to stay the course with the PNP. The cancellation of the JLP conference certainly suggests that it is true.

The IMF making their very public statement recently about their satisfaction with the current govts performance cannot be coincidental, clearly it was done to influence opinions and give the PNP a talking point. Times have certainly changed in Jamaican politics.

Although Fenton Fergusons firing appears to have given the JLP some wind at their backs going into the final weeks, it is really difficult to see the JLP winning the election. They have been so damaged by years of infighting that their on the ground operations are now way inferior to the PNP. They no longer have the monied class in their corner, and they have not convinced the general public that they are over their internal power struggles.

If they pull it off it would be a major surprise to me, however if they don't I hope they will give a strong account of themselves because they are now in danger of becoming a permanent minority party which nobody believes can win back power.

I am looking forward to the election after the election ( JLP leadership).
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

Very good observation Islandman, for years I have been trying to make known the presence of the bogeyman but party allegiance has made that diffucult.I even went as far as to suggest putting tge IMF on our ballots so we remove the question if arrogated rights.
The PNP is shamelessly doing the biddings of the IMF hence it is mutually beneficial not to cgange anything.
Election will not be called until early next year in anticipation of the JLP imploding again.

If you look closely at this sham of an inquiry into the goings on of the TG incursion(someone on the panel telling a police witness that he believes him),you will see two things, the official verdict being one that absolves the security forces of responsibility (by extension the current government is not financially responsible..)and the public outcry of injustice directed at the JLP(this is a favourable outcome for the PNP).

He is history if he fails in his bid to be elected, and his defeat will likely lead to wholesale changes in the party.
Portia has outfoxed the lot of them, criticism of her policies regarding the economy have been forwarded to the IMF,and the JLP is not smart enough to make JP privy to the bogeyman that is hiding in plain sight.

The JLP is so close to winning they can actually taste victory!
They have the vast majority of the people in economic pain who would grasp at any straw!

The truth: Neither the JLP nor the PNP can make things better unless they level with the people on the Math using historical evidence pitting potential workforce against job creation - public and private sectors - in the context of attrition from the workforce and present a plan that points the various many combined approaches = way to 'running down' the numbers on unemployment and underemployment.

Look here is the simplistic example: If 10 jobs are created each year and only 2 persons leave the workforce while at the same time 200 persons join the ranks of the unemployed then...?????

              Answer: Grief!!!

The answer to solutions to overtake those numbers must be a multi-faceted. ...and there must be clear insight that our job market-place must be internal and external!!!

I have to ask if is really him. Very brief and to the point. He also was balance in his views. This is can't be Karl at all, someone took over his handle.
