DIGICEL'S owner Denis O'Brien wants to see the popular Coronation Market in West Kingston develop as a tourist attraction and a facility which people can feel free to visit at night for merrymaking.

O'Brien, 57, in an interview with the Jamaica Observer on Friday, said that it is now time for the Jamaican Government and the private sector to work closely so that his dream may become a reality before long.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

This is not about love...except love for money

The guy knows potential going abegging when he sees it...and knows when & how to capitalize when others (like the Professor Johnny FINSAC scaredy-cat type ) quake in fear about "so many problems" which inhibit investment. That type needs the "perfect investment climate"...and usually ends up doing nothing...a waste

The best capitalists know how to assess the risk/reward construct...and know that the higher the risk...the greater the potential return

Apart from Jamaica in 2000... just look what Digicel has done in Haiti (where everyone else runs from) in about 6-7 years. It's now a bigger revenue line for Digicel than JA is...amazing

When dat guy moves...smart money should follow. Is like im hardly eva miss

                    Damn right!
Mixed feelings, what role would informal vendors there play in the redevelopment(really gentrification..)of the area seeing they are the ones that made the spot viable today?
The one good thing is it is exactly the changes needed to start addressing plaguing problems there and surrounding neighbourhoods.
