ever your teacher? She was my first form (68-69) English teacher. She recently passed away. Her funeral was this morning.
RIP.
Yes, the great Mrs Holmes was there til the late 1970s...and she caught me in 1st form as well.. Her immortal lline that everyone recalls because she repeated it like a holy mantra:
"Never, never never..ever, ever, ever...Mark your Power Builders

Yes, She used to drop that line on us too. If I remember correctly, she lived in Hope Pastures... and had a daughter who went to St Andrews (?).
RIP
BTW Do you know what ever became of Mrs. Mayne? She was more influential on me as an English teacher, probably because she taught me when I was older and more receptive to academics...in first form all I wanted to do was play!

Yes she lived in Pastures and I believe her daughter attended St Andrew's.
I don't know the whereabouts or status of Mrs Mayne. I can ask the guy who runs that Blue Memoirs FB page which I linked you to. He's documenting the people and legacies of both JC & our sister school, St Andrew's. He interviews lots of the older stalwarts and records many valuable stories in the process.

Yes, ask him please. She was from Manitoba, Canada and married to a member of the constabulary; he was a higher ranking officer. I remember she had a young daughter too (little more than toddler if I remember correctly) back in the early 70s.
