During Bloomberg's tenure, the reduction of crime that began near the end of Mayor David Dinkins's tenure [15][16] has continued. I have been saying it all along, but maybe since Wikipedia says it others may agree. Giuliani just happened to come in at the right time, and has shamelessly sought credit for something he has had little to do with. In fact, Dinkins should be careful how he takes credit too. The fact is the US' economy was on the rise and cities all over experienced a drop in crime.

Maybe Clinton deserves credit more than anyone else.

Yup, it says its a demographic shift NOT attributable to any of the politrixians. It would have happened regardless of who was in power. The econ./social investigation/research showed that the crime drop was due to the drop in kids born to unwed single moms. The fall in such births due to the abortion bill from the 1970s was the stated reason.
