  • Obama's ISIS Strategy is????

ISIS has conquered 50% of Syria. Ramadi, Iraq a week ago was conquered, and now the ancient Roman city of Palmyra in Syria is under their rule. Right wing zealots are calling for US troops on the ground.

In hindsight a residual force of 10,000 US troops was advocated by McCain may have helped to stabilize Iraq. However, this so-called stability would have been short-lived and temporary anyway. It will be a matter of time before these crazies march on Baghdad & Damascus. The eight month aerial bombing campaign by the US & its few Arab allies has had little effect on ISIS.

The Prez needs to clearly articulate his strategy for defeating this menace.

True, he is training rebels to take on Assad, while ISIS advances.

I still don't fully understand what ISIS is.

When did they become such a force? What were they doing from 2003-2013 when the the US was supposedly defeating Al Queda?

Is it simply Al Queda with a different brand?

Why should ISIS be America's problem? Where is Russia, China, Germany etc?

America is the world's leading superpower.
China lacks the sophistication to mobilize troops quickly.
Russia only sells arms, definitely not Germany.

In all honesty,Obama inherited the ness from Bush,it was an unjust invasion and occupation. The US invaded Iraq with the blessing of the people that became the governmentnthe very people that made mattes even worse. The US has done the same thing on multiple occasions ,all ending the same, what part did Obam play in those outcomes?

What you talking bout bredren? Irrespective of how long it takes China to get to the region, they will get there. Other countries need to step up as ISIS is not only a threat to the US but all nations.

                    Why not Germany?

The interesting thing about it all is it is Iran that is trying to stop that group,Iraq has paid for needed military equipment (fighter jets, helicopters etc) and the US has yet to deliver them.
To compound things,it is that group that is working with the US to topple Asad regime in Syria .
The map of the region before it was redrawn by the Europeans is the best indicator of ho w things are destined to end up,the problem is that group will not stop there.
They are easily squashed but it will not happen.

So how do you think ISIS would have done if there was no US air strikes?

                        US would have fallen already?

Karl it is all cosmetic,do you remember what happened to Saddam's soldiers when they invaded rich Kuwait?
I ran is the game changer, and apparently Obama kbew that would be the case from the get go,ergo he did battle with those people that vehemently objected to any dialogue between the US and Iran.

Obama's ISIS strategy is to do not a D@MN thing but provide necessary support......He voted against the Iraq invasion & warned of the "problems" & instability that could result from removing Saddam Hussein......Before he became president, he told everyone that he was against having U.S. troops engaged in combat in Iraq, so why would anyone be surprised that he's not sending in any troops.

Send in U.S. troops and I bet you'll see a big increase in ISIS fighting forces, plus I don't hear any European countries (even the ones who were a part of the coalition force that invaded Iraq) talking about sending in troops.

As for that senile war monger McCain, if he had won, the U.S. would have had large fighting forces in Afghanistan & Iraq, plus troops fighting in Syria & Ukraine.

Iran is the only country in the region that is serious about stopping ISIS, but I don't see anybody questioning why the far right is so much against the Iran deal that would help to "strengthen" the country financially. Why is it beneficial to THEM to continue crippling the country???

Hillary can send in troops since she supported the invasion.
