consider what if the abolitionists gave up because slavery was so entrenched and profitable that it just did not make sense to abolish it.

if you believe in something the labour must be unceasing especially where you are trying to convince those who do not want to, because the minute YOU give up the struggle, it will be lost because they will not get there by themselves.

my 8 year old daughter epitomises this. when she thinks she is wronged she will stand up in a fire and defend her position mostly to my great admiration, occasionally with equally great frustration.

but then poor child, she did not get to choose her parents or grandparents ....

Show me one line or sentence in the three articles that supports reparation. Not two nor three just ONE!

Don't curse at Jawge. Take garvey's article apart if you don't like it.

This is not new. The same people who mocked and ridiculed me when I said Olint was wrong from a logical stand point are here to hurl insults and have nothing to offer nor counter my citations or points.

            Walk good.

The Japanese and Jews suceeded because they spoke with 'one' voice.

The conversation about reparations within the Black experience is not uniform. Everyone and each country involved, have their own take. These often times simple differences are magnified --and work to the advantage of the hostiles.

The reparation conversation MUST be uniform and presented from an intellectual perspective....

But in the mean while the different segments of Black progress that Garvey has outlined... must be in full effect and achieved.

I fully agree with what you stated above. We can't ignore this massive economic disadvantage:

and so yes, there are NOW multiple voices but the conversation must continue in order to get to that one voice...I can guarantee you one thing. for the moment multiple voices are far better than no voice.

Is the black race the first to be at an economic advantage? What Garvey is saying in so many words that the system at present is man made. If man made then with one's mind one should be able to overcome and prosper.

When Japan started to give the US competition in the auto indusrty. The experts in the US said "ah the produce the cars outside of our environ ment, thus they have no unions, health care and other overheads". Bring your factory here and it's a different story. Japan brought the factories to the US, passed all the stroict regulations, handled all overheads and still made a profit by selling more cars.

Black people are saying we are mentally weak and cannot cope. Garvey begged to differ.

Indeed King Jawge, i agree with you. Us Blacks can do much better and achieve a helluva-lot more.

In every major cities in the USA, different ethnic group have SUCCESSFULLY carved out vibrant economic niches.

Example: In Chicago, the Polish people, Italians, Hispanic, Koreans, Asians all have made economic progress and are respected. (No comment on us Blacks).

Ever gone to China town in Lower Manhattan, the Bowery, Chambers St. etc etc. These guys have their own banks. Here in ATL, Koreans own blocks upon blocks of businesses and they boldly place their STAMP on their terri-terri.

                      NOTE:

We should separate the reparation issue from the Garvey admonitions.

All of us on this forum want the same things. In order to move forward --we must agree to disagree. This dissing of each other just set us back.

Hl if you notice I have little time to hurl insults. I pepper my agruments with facts and citations. If blacks followed Garvey's words they would have little or no time to ask for reparations. What Garvey is putting forward will take a lot of mental work thus it's much easier to ask for reparations because the Jews got theirs and they are now prospering.

If reparations cannot save the black race, what's the point of asking for one?

reparations by itself .... did reparations by itself save the jews or japanese?

it is not an all or nothing!

question what derailed marcus garvey's plans? the mail fraud convictions? it is alleged that these are trumped up charges, soundsl ike someone was out to get him ... who was that?

All Jawge is set up fictitious straw men and then tries to slay them. No one said reparation was the be all and end all. Try to think without the blinders.
