A man's hand was blown off allegedly by an explosive device he and his cronies were attempting to construct.
The man is 19-year-old Jason Grant of the volatile Russia District in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland.
Reports are that about 1:30 Sunday morning Mr. Grant and a colleague were at premises in Russia making an explosive device.
One of the devices ignited in his hand and reportedly exploded in the process.
The police say initial investigations reveal that the men were building the device as they were planning an attack on the lawmen.
Fragments of the explosive have since been recovered by the police, while a search has been launched for other man.
