Commissioner of Police Lucius Thomas is maintaining a stoic silence over a public spat involving a Deputy Commissioner and a senior officer.
Over the past few days a public war of words has erupted between Deputy Police Commissioner Mark Shields and Senior Superintendent Reneto Adams.
It was widely expected that the Commissioner would enter the fray in a bid to bring an end to the impasse.
But Director of Communications Karl Angel told the RJR News Centre Monday morning that the Commissioner would not be making any comment on the issue at this time.
Speaking on a television programme last week SSP Adams called for the resignation of DCP Shields for what he called the DCP's bungling of the Bob Woolmer investigation.
But DCP Shields has fired back claiming that it is SSP Adams who should resign following his handling of controversial police operations.
The DCP named the Braeton and Tivoli Gardens operations as cases in point.
The two men have been at loggerheads since DCP Shields led the Scotland Yard investigation into a police operation in Kraal in Clarendon.
During that operation, two men and two women were killed in what the police said was a shoot-out.
SSP Adams and five of his officers were later charged with murder for their killings.
But the courts freed the six policemen following a much publicised trial.
