THE National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) yesterday absolved itself from total blame for the massive fire raging at the Riverton City landfill in St Andrew and which has caused great discomfort to the population in the capital, Kingston.
At the same time, NSWMA Executive Director Jennifer Edwards said the fire, which started on Wednesday, could be the largest in the dump's 45-year history, engulfing an estimated half of the 120 acres on which it sits.
