    So 2 of the frat boys were expelled for

    their racist chant!!! I for one don't think they should have been expelled, as I am of the view there could have been other means of punishment other than expelling them. One indicated he was taught the song. Others said they have heard the chants before ....

    Does expelling them really achieve anything?

      I was impressed with the way the Dean responded,he is old(more susceptible to old backward ways)and yet dealt with the matter affording the contempt it deserves.
      We have to stop accepting those typical cosmetic fixes,and DEMAND equal tratment in EVERY way.

        The Dean seriously considered closing down the Frat house,it would have been a deterrent..

          What I do not understand is why when there is clear evidence that the uttering of someone was not intended to offend Jews it is still dealt with in a harsh manner yet when there is no room for such doubts about offensive things said about my people,we are less likely to react..

            Execution could have been better.

            Hey, the school said they had a zero tolerance policy for such things. Argument done!

                True ... but expelling them could see them going to another institution and join racist frat ... probably the KKK.

                Not every person found guilty of a crime goes to prison, sometimes probation is a means of punishment. Maybe keeping them at the college, punishing them some other way that would cause them to realize how much of an a..hole they were could have caused them to genuinely make a change. Now I am hearing apology from both, and I don't buy it.

                  It is very easy to understand.

                  Jews have economic power, we don't.

                  Jews have built strong communities, we haven't.

                  Jews understand that building wealth and strong communities are the key to power, we don't. Or at least we act like we don't even though we were told this 100 years ago by Garvey.

                      If they never had that (KKK) in them from the get-go, then they won't. If that is what their made of, then it was going to happen anyway.

                      Yes, they could probably be punished in some other way -community service with the homeless and AIDS patients - but expulsion should certainly remain as an option.
