    We note with grave concern the announcement of the discovery of a plot to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela in a coup on 12 February (Venezuelan general arrested over plot to topple president, officials say, 13 February). Officials have said the plans included violent attacks on the presidential palace and other government buildings. The thwarting of this latest coup attempt comes as leaders of Latin American countries have warned of a similar situation developing in Venezuela to that which preceded the coup against Salvador Allende in Chile in 1973, which led to the horrendous dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.

    The Economist's Feb. 6 cover displayed the Venus de Milo statue pointing a revolver, with the headline "Go ahead, Angela, make my day." In the editors' upside-down world, Greece is threatening Europe, or at least Germany. Really?

    On Monday, Feb. 16, European officials "handed Athens an ultimatum: Agree by Friday to continue with a bailout program or risk the funding that the country needs to avoid a default," The New York Times reported.

          There is that arrogance about that Germany iffucial,it can't be useful especially at a time the people of Greece are voicing disapproval of the status quo by electing a pseudo communist.
          Why is the european union successful,well protectionism is enjoyed by a few at the expense of the majority,with Greece the first bent on leaving.

            Sorry.. The only coups worthy of "international condemnation" (i.e. by CNN/NBC/BBC/FOX etc AKA Babylon Media) are those that are directed against Western oriented regimes
