THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!
"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.
"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

When I was a child,I liked chocolate and hated vegetables ,that changed when I got older.
Ghoulish movies etc also went out the window,Sniper is at a disadvantage by default without even comsidering the political implications.
So,I will probably watch it if it falls into my lap.

Mawning Rockman. There are not too many movies that I watch these days and certainly not many war movies.
What interested me about this one was that it was based on the memoirs of the controversial lead character. Looking at the world through the eyes of someone else to try and understand why they think the way they do can be very interesting for me, mostly because it often makes me consider how much different I would be from them if I had the same life experiences.
I don't think this is a pro-war or anti-war movie. It is the story of a Navy SEAL and his life over 4 combat tours."It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men" - Frederick Douglass

Although I do not [naturally] agree with all the point of view of others...I try to see understand 'where they are coming from......'.
Example: Remember Armstrong Williams, Herman Cain and currently Dr. Ben Carson ? (...among lots of others). Why do these outstanding men hold the views they do?
What I have found is that if you look carefully at how they were [all] brought up...it shed some light on their conservative thought pattern. Views that non-conservative minds abhor.
Read any of Dr Carson's books, Gifted Hands, Think Big...all hint that his upbringing made his political views what they are today.
Same with Williams. His southern upbringing and experience in S. Carolina made him what he has become.
Herman Cain; I listen his syndicated talk show most mornings when I get ready for work. Don't agree with most of his politics, but his up-bringing too made him the person he is.
You are who you are based on family, environment, economic status and so on. Our views on issues are often times polarized. That is natural and OK. It is for this reason why this film has created two schools of thought.
We have to begin to take the approach that you have stated above--in TRYING to see things through the vision of others. After all, none of us hold the monopoly on truth and righteousness. The only time TRUTH will hurt you...is if you ignore it long enough

some things remain unpalatable, and with alll things there must be context.
if i understand how clarence thomas grew up being call ABC, and how it affects his outlook on life and the possible effects on his self esteem and likely self hatred doesn't necessarily make it alright.

Good examples, none of those men are dishonorable in my view. I was a fan of Carson before I knew anything about his politics and I still am today.
I still cringe somewhat when I read or listen to Booker T Washingtons "Atlanta Compromise" speech but I recognize that he believed that was the safest way forward for blacks, given the the time and place he existed in. He saw slavery, he saw Reconstruction fail, he saw the formation of the KKK and he saw numerous lynchings. He lived in the South unlike many prominent black leaders of that era. How can any of us who saw none of that first hand say what our world view would have been had we lived through it. It is very easy to sit in the 21st century and pontificate but we really do not know."It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men" - Frederick Douglass

Just that, I think I have gotten to the point of being tolerant.
A few years ago I listened to Armstrong Williams relate to an audience--intimate details about his early upbringing. I knew and understand then why he chose the conservative route. The only time TRUTH will hurt you...is if you ignore it long enough
