Personally, I have grown very, very weary of ridiculous arguments with so-called knowledgeable people who refuse to recognize and indeed acknowledge that Jamaican music has been steadily declining for several years. Oftentimes the justification given is even pathetic! The bottom line is that, despite occasional bright spots, we are near rock bottom in the evolution of our music, as is the case with other aspects of our dysfunctional society.
I have no interest in discussing this totally predictable (I just could not pinpoint a date when it would happen) drama below, and so I am simply posting it for someone who obviously shares my views on this subject, HL . I will NOT respond to comments by any other poster.

Abrupt end for Sting 2014

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2014 staging of Magnum Sting came to an abrupt end a few hours ago after it was marred by a series of melee.
The first started when one entertainer, Major Mackerel, began his set, which was slated to be a clash with another artiste.
A fight between two entertainers followed when, according to a Magnum Sting representative, members of deejays Demarco and Masika’s entourages had a confrontation backstage.
Dozens of patrons were sent running for cover as the two parties hurled bottles at each other. A few gunshots were also fired but it is unclear if police personnel who were trying to calm the crowd fired the shots.
