  • Ex Aussie PM on danger of America's supposed exceptionalism

    America: Australia's Dangerous Ally

First, despite much blather about a supposed unanimity of national purpose, the truth is that the United States and Australia have substantially different values systems. The idea of American exceptionalism is contrary to Australia’s sense of egalitarianism. Second, we have seen the United States act in an arbitrary, imprudent and capricious fashion. It has made a number of ill-advised and ill-informed decisions concerning Eastern Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

Even President Obama has embraced the idea of exceptionalism, telling the UN General Assembly in 2013, “I believe America is exceptional.” A nation better than any other, innately motivated to do good; what America does is right because America does it. The idea of American exceptionalism, which has always been present in the United States, has gone far beyond all comprehension in the years of America’s absolute supremacy. It has created a different nation, a different society. Such ideas influence American foreign policy in ways that make it much more difficult to achieve a secure and safe path in the future.
Our task is not to embrace America, but to preserve ourselves from its reckless overreach.

Every nation is reexamining its relationship with the USA ,times have changed and are changing.

    Jamaica needs to take heed.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

When you have time this is an article you and any thinking person should read. It's an insightful & clear-minded perspective on American policy from an objective Western ally..... and it's devastating. Most won't read something like this and even fewer have the capacity to understand its implications for the future i.e. a high probability for Global War

The correct game for JA is to play one Babylon against the others... East & West. Good relations with all...but friends with none. That's the game Manley failed badly at
