Former beauty queen tipped to fill South East St. Ann seat

Senior Peoples National Party (PNP) sources have confirmed media reports that former Miss World Lisa Hannah is tipped to replace Aloun Assamba as the party's candidate for South East St. Ann.

The sources say the decision was made at a meeting Monday as the party attempts to bring an end to the ongoing impasse over who will represent it in the constituency.

Tuesday morning a sitting councillor it the constituency told our News Centre that while they were not at Monday's meeting they have heard that the former beauty queen has been selected.

However the Councillor would not say if the PNP supporters would accept Ms. Hannah who was once married to former JLP Senator Dr. David Panton.

PNP supporters in South East St. Ann have repeatedly said they would not accept any candidate from outside the four persons initially short listed to replace Mrs. Assamba.

Donald McDowell, Bevon Morrison, Sheree Brown-McDonald, and Lenworth Fulton were scheduled to contest a selection exercise earlier this year but that was called off.

Since then, internal polls have shown Mrs. Brown-McDonald as the clear favourite.

However, indications are that the PNP leadership has not endorsed this choice.

Ha ha ha...cant say the PNP is not attractive to the attractive people. Imani Duncan is not a bad looker herself at all but then again you will say she was born in it, no?

Maybe this is just another way for Lisa to get back at David....
