Probe begins in fatal shooting of boy by officer

CLEVELAND (AP) — A 12-year-old boy was fatally shot by police in Cleveland after brandishing what turned out to be a replica gun, triggering an investigation into his death and a legislator's call for such weapons to be brightly colored or bear special markings.

The boy, identified by the Cuyahoga County medical examiner as Tamir Rice, died from his wounds Sunday, a day after officers responded to a 911 call about someone waving a "probably fake" gun at a playground.

Sad! But thoughts in my head, why do parents continue to give children these stupid toys, and where was the parents/guardians when the kid was in the park (public space) with this BB. From all indications it looks like a real thing.

Putting a bright strip on those realistic "fake" guns won't solve that problem... real gun man will disguise their firearms with it? maybe?

Exactly, how I feel! And father talking **** about police should have used taser on him. The gun looks real. In this day and age why put your child at risk with something like that?
