My understanding is serious work being done here - in US - to have fibre optics lines (for cable/other communication devices) installed.

...and, on your question of 1st rate - available with good continunous connections for commerce and private useage. Jamaica has that!
Available where and at what cost ?

Do you get your information from PNP Pamphlets ? Why do you insist on spreading innacuracies ? What is your agenda ?

"Minister Paulwell, who was speaking at the opening of a two-day Internet Service Providers (ISP) workshop themed: 'Strategies for Operating a Competitive ISP' today (April 6) at the Courtleigh Hotel in Kingston, pointed out that Jamaica could not claim to be a member of a knowledge-based society if its Internet subscription was 10 per cent and below. "It is not going to happen," he stressed, adding that, "the penetration rate for Internet access has remained behind those found in more dynamic markets."

He attributed the low figures to the "relatively low fixed line penetration, the absence of many alternatives and the high price of Internet access," noting that of the island's approximately 130,000 internet subscribers, only 10 per cent had high speed access over wire and wireless facilities."

Your response is probably going to be.. "Who is Paulwell..yaddah yaddah"

You cannot even be weighed and measured, you are so far below instrumentation capabilities..

Oooooh ! Now I see why you think Jamaica Telecom is FIRST RATE:

"He noted that while liberalization had precipitated "spectacular growth" in the cell phone market, with Jamaica now being the leading country in the western hemisphere in terms of cell phone penetration"

The LEADING COUNTRY in the WESTERN HEMISPHERE !!!

      LOG ON TO PROGRESS !!!

Karl, why are you wasting the good education that was provided you.. or are you simply using it for evil purposes ?

        Paulwell spoke truth!
Cost is tied to market size!
The larger the market...usually cheaper unit cost!

In this area some form of subsidy will have to be found.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
