    So I spent the last 2 days on the Isle of Bute...~30 minutes by ferry, west of Glasgow.

    I found Cullen Skink on the menu at a restaurant. Never had it before--but it turned out to be what we would call clam chowder. The twist (as you know) is that Cullen Skink is made with smoked haddock, cream, onions and potatoes etc etc..; served with bread.

    Thanks for the intro. I would have this soup again!!

    Skink is a type of lizard. But I'm sure that's not what you had.

        Yes, good stuff! Visited the UK on many occassions, need to venture out from London one of these days to see Ireland or Scotland.
