Joshua Meier, 18, hopes his research into aging stem cells -- which he started when he was 14 -- could be used to develop cancer treatments.
Adeeb Alblooshi, a 10-year-old inventor from the United Arab Emirates, created a waterproof prosthetic leg for his father when he was six.
Samantha Marquez, 18, created a three-dimensional living cell structure that could help with organ repair and delivering drugs to the body. She started developing the concept when she was 11.
Following in her sister's scientific footsteps, Michelle Marquez, 15, started studying how the brain responds to different types of music when she was 11.

Tony Hansberry, 20, developed a new medical stitch for hysterectomy patients, at 14.
When he was 15, Jack Andraka's low-cost test for pancreatic cancer won him the 2012 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair's top prize.
Andrew Almazán Anaya, 19, became a psychologist when he was 16 years old, and an MD soon after. Since then, he's been developing a diabetes treatment and conducting research related to gifted education.
