  • Happy Emancipation Day to all of the English speaking

Caribbean. On this historic day in 1834 many of our ancestors sang songs, went to church, laughed and cried among many other things and I am sure they wondered with both excitement and trepidation what the road ahead was going to be like.

Whenever we are faced with our day-to-day challenges just think what it must have been like for these people on this day, what they had gone through and what they were about to deal with. It has not been an easy road.

    Quote for the Day:

"You can’t separate peace from freedom, because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom." Malcolm X
"‎It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men" - Frederick Douglass

    Happy Emancipation Day!

Islandman, the road has been made rougher by our leaders, but we need push on. Surely a day to reflect.
