Prime Minister promises more benefits if PNP wins General Election

President of the Peoples National Party (PNP), Portia Simpson Miller, is predicting that the country stands to gain tremendous benefits if the ruling party is victorious in the next general election.

Addressing thousands of party supporters in Old Harbour, St. Catherine Sunday night, Mrs. Simpson Miller highlighted her lists of achievements since becoming Prime Minister over a year ago.

She argued that since she took office as President of the PNP and Prime Minister many Jamaicans have become land and home owners.

Mrs. Simpson Miller also reminded party supporters that as of Monday they will be able to take their children to hospitals free of cost.

Amidst thunderous applause, the PNP President blasted the Bruce Golding led-Jamaica Labour Party on its promises to make education free if it forms the next government.

According to Mrs. Simpson Miller the Opposition's plan for free education is unrealistic.

She told the party supporters that the PNP deserved a fifth term to continue its work.

Sunday night's rally was held to celebrate the PNP President's first year in office.

Mrs. Simpson Miller presented the party's nine candidates and 40 councillor/caretakers for the parish of St. Catherine and six candidates and 22 councillor/caretakers for Clarendon at the rally held in the Old Harbour Square.
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)
