    Monday, June 30, 2014 | 5:00 PM

Commissioner of Police - Owen Ellington

KINGSTON, Jamaica - In a shocking development Commissioner of Police, Owen Ellington has tendered a letter of retirement to Minister of National Security Peter Bunting and the Police Service Commission.

Ellington took over the reins of the police force in November 2009 following the departure of former head of the Jamaica Defence Force - Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Seems to me the reason he gave for retiring does not make sense,in fact retiring may impede the investigation.
It wasn't just any security operation, the top head gave his okay to the planning snd execution.

Access and cooperation have been curtailed, the only interest this serve is to distant the office from the incursion.

One commentator said that INDECOM will not be able to question him because he is a private citizen. He was a good commissioner. He did a lot of house cleaning. I sincerely hope that he is not in any trouble.
The same type of thinking that created a problem cannot be used to solve the problem.

Did the Minister of National Security try to dissuade him, or was his resignation letter eagerly accepted? Just wondering….

Remember when Gomes retired, the prevailing sentiments of sorrows and well wishes only to be offset by the aftermath of troubling revelations?
Buckle up for this one Historian.

reneto adams had a lot to say in his own particular idiom and vernacular...

Infidelity does not consist in believing, or in disbelieving; it consists in professing to believe what he does not believe. Thomas Paine
