Barrington Irving and his progress to fly solo around the world
Published May 9, 2007 in Life, African-American News and Barrington Irving.
I came across this young man a couple of months ago and I spread the word on Barrington Irving's mission to become the first Black Man to fly solo around the world. Barrington Irving took off on March 23rd from Miami and he began his journey to make history.
In his attempt to fly solo across the world Barrington Irving has made 9 stops flying a total of 8,345 miles so far into his solo flight. Currently Barrington Irving is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates(UAE). The next stop will be Mumbai, India which he is set to leave at any time.
It has been a marvalous journey for Barrington Irving thus far and he has taken photos at each stop and he has a blog that he updates at each stop where he refuels and makes visits to schools to take about his solo flight and to field questions from inspired children and adults. Just remember that Barrington Irving built his own plane with donate parts and he is accomplishing all of this at the young age of 23!
Lets Continue to keep Barrington Irving in our prayers as we anticipate his safe return home and his journey to be the first Black man to fly solo around the world.
