KINGSTON, Jamaica— Opposition spokesperson on Youth, Culture and Entertainment, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, is calling on Government to decriminalise the possession of small amounts of marijuana and erase the police records of individuals who have been criminalised for such over the years.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Just feel had her party been in power, she would not have taken that position.
This small quantity angle really isn't needed, the person that supplies that quantity will have it in bulk, that person runs afoul of the law.
The Govt should suspend law enforcement activities as it pertains to weed(arrest and eradication).....
I am with her on erasing criminal records.....
My advice to Babsy is work on her party on this issue so it speaks with one voice.

If they had sense ,they should make it an election issue and appeal to a base they are out of touch with.

Discredit? Thats the problem afraid to champion progressive common sense initiatives.

Uptown isn't exactly beholding to politicians,in fact it is likely the other way around. They too benefit from that law being repealed, and certainly the least likely to be persuaded to vote...due to weed laws being repealed.Besides,I think as much as70% of voters in Jamaica are automatic voter for one party or the other.
It is the stigma that is the problem,HL.

Well that has been the problem from day one,at no point in history were we Jamaicans separated more than when the lines were clearly drawn along political lines.Mass delusions and vast appeciation for one of two colours.

Could be seen as misogynistic,it is certainly a let off for we males that are more visible in this mess.
Seems mommy will somehow have to be even better to make up for our deficiencies.
The stigma attached to weed is not helpful,it too has to do with mischaracterization, why not the freaking balls?
