  • Scaly, as mi say, its in the news.

St. Ann businessman and People’s National Party activist, Denzil McDonald, is moving to clear his name following allegations that law enforcement agencies are suspicious about his activities.

Through his attorney, Oswest Senior-Smith, Mr. McDonald has written to police Commissioner Lucius Thomas asking him to address what he has described as widespread and unsubstantiated charges.

In the letter, the attorney describes Mr. McDonald as a community builder and philanthropist who has given selflessly to several organizations, including schools and churches.

While refuting claims that he has been involved in illegal activities, Mr. McDonald called on the Commissioner to reveal any information which the Police may have linking him to any wrongdoing.

The St. Ann businessman said he is prepared to be interviewed or be interrogated by any agency of the state.

Mr. McDonald has been in the news in recent months following a dispute with Member of Parliament, Aloun Assamba.

It is believed that this was at the heart of Mrs. Assamba’s decision to walk away from South East St. Ann, where she has served as Member of Parliament since 2002.

Since then, Mr. McDonald's wife has emerged as the leading contender to replace Mrs. Assamba as the party's representative in the constituency.

However, the leadership of the party is yet to decide on its candidate.
