you can refer to it as verandah talk to appease yourself..
Yuh was in di miggle of dis fiasco at the Convention center.. suh yuh seh..
<In 2003, one of China's most powerful vice-premiers, Madame Wu Yi, came to Jamaica and wanted desperately to invest here. She wanted one or two options.
Jampro gave her a book of 200 options and when she asked for one or two she was told to choose. She subsequently went to The Bahamas and they gave her one option, a distribution hub.
She sent back the China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO) to come and negotiate with Jamaica for the distribution hub. Men like K.D. Knight and Bobby Stephens assisted COSCO to sign a joint-venture agreement in 2005.
The powerful Port Authority of Jamaica and its then even more powerful head, the venerable and honourable Tony Hylton, scuttled that plan in favour of one with Maersk.
Maersk moved all its containers from The Bahamas, Panama and the Dominica Republic to Kingston. The massive transfers, after a short while, clogged the Kingston port facility which allowed Maersk to invoke a clause related to the number of containers moved in an hour and terminated the contract in less than two years in 2007.
The containers were redistributed from Kingston to the three former ports from which they had been taken, at what we can safely guess to have been significantly cheaper prices.
Looks like Jamaica was used, or worse.
Now the Chinese are back, this time to tell us that they want Goat Islands - and not a partnership with Jamaica.>
