Larceny, breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act and wounding were the leading offences that landed adult Jamaicans in prison in 2013.
Data contained in the 2013 Economic and Social Survey indicated that a total of 1,975 persons were admitted to correctional facilities last year.
The figures show that men accounted for 93.1 per cent of those incarcerated.
It was also highlighted that the majority of the adults incarcerated last year were first-timers, under the age of 31 and were unskilled.

It would be good if we had a breakdown of the data as per ,
*types of larceny,
*where and types of drug offences
* employment status
* Was there an issue of police abuse
Mo this is how you tackle social/human rights issues.How much of these arrest led to police physically abusing/killing citizens in certain area or demographics...DATA ?
