DEA administrator claims that marijuana legalization imperils dogs

It’s hard to come up with a new angle on a much-debated policy issue like the War on Drugs. But Drug Enforcement Administration head Michele Leonhart may have succeeded with her recent claim that we should oppose marijuana legalization because it poses a health risk for dogs. Unfortunately, her argument ignores the reality that the War on Drugs poses a far greater threat to dogs than marijuana does.

Marijuana news: Legalized pot 'makes us fight harder,' top DEA official tells Congressional committee

"It's important to have the facts about marijuana put out there in ways that kids, teens, young adults, parents can look at it and see that what they've been sold -- that this is no big deal -- is not true."

Leonhart also implied that voters in Washington and Colorado had been misled about the benefits of legalizing marijuana. "What was explained to the voters was how much money that they'd be raising.

What was explained to the voters was that this was good for law enforcement, because then police could go after the real crimes. What was told to the voters is that this would collapse the Mexican drug cartels," she said.

Reilly reports that that Leonhart also expressed concerns about marijuana exposure to pets.

Leonhart made headlines earlier this year when she spoke out against President Obama's comments regarding marijuana.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

that is because she knows that people in america care more about their pets than other human beings!

        The documented pattern of abuse

NJ Transit sued for suspending employee in medical marijuana program

He told NJ Transit’s medical director he used medicinal marijuana, and offered to apply for “non-safety sensitive position” if his treatment was a problem, according to the lawsuit.

The suit says the medical director Patrice Verner, “told him that he had no choice but to take the drug test and if it came back positive, he would be sent to drug rehabilitation.”

Davis tested positive for pot on Dec. 28 and was sent to a drug treatment program. Since then, he has been out of work and not receiving a paycheck.

New Jersey State Municipal Prosecutors Association, which believes the money spent trying these cases is "silly," the association’s president said.

The vote by the association’s board of trustees was called the first of its kind in the nation by the leader of an international group of law enforcement officials seeking the legalization of pot.
