The Government has now signed the Framework Agreement with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) for the development of a transshipment hub in the Portland Bight.

Chiney ar Termite dem nuh tek mi into dem confidence pon dat subjek

What I do note is that the money is following my prescription that the Old Harbour zone is optimal to leverage logistics development... your enclave red herring issue or no

Clearly this zone is appealing primarily because of very favorable landside and seaside conditions ...including its geo-spatial expansiveness allowing multipliers to be fully leveraged. Unlike the chuck-up KMR

Chalk up dat to yet anedda Don1 prediction manifesting itself

Yuh gawn back tuh yuh nonsense again ? Optimal compared to where ?

What aspects of the 'Old Harbour zone' is CHEC 'leveraging' for logistics development ?

Tek yuh meds.. yuh sinking back into yuh nostrildamus delusional state..

10,000 'chucked up acres' in the KMR..

Wheh yuh seh.. grow more cane ?

Why does the Logistics Hub proposal conceptualized and being driven by the Logistics technocrats and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce under 2 different Govts make no reference to this 'optimal' development ?

I tend to agree. Kingston is the faster play and could be phase 1, Old Harbour could be phase 2. We will need BOTH if this thing takes off like it should.

                Hmmm...mek mi si...oh

What aspects of the 'Old Harbour zone' is CHEC 'leveraging' for logistics development ?
the project plan will make the leverage opportunities apparent to the discerning... mi nuh know bout yuh doh. Yuh still agguh lost...wooiiiee

10,000 'chucked up acres' in the KMR..

Wheh yuh seh.. grow more cane ?
unfortunately there is no large undeveloped coastline contiguous to Caymanas... this FACT of spatial limitation renders the location sub-optimal for the Chiney-type large, integrated land-sea logistics operation

Why does the Logistics Hub proposal conceptualized and being driven by the Logistics technocrats and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce under 2 different Govts make no reference to this 'optimal' development ?
JLPNP Tribalists are neanderthals ..I don't regard their views as definitive...perhaps you do

It is risk capital which determines optimality... not retarded JLPNP bureaucrats eyeing the next election cycle... or yappin Rum Barists

Money run di cut...and the money has chosen the Old Harbour Zone as predicted

                Case closed

                      LOL!!!!
Ok... tell di Chiney dem fi assemble, store and ship dozens of 2000 ton container gantry cranes, dredging equipment etc throughout LATAM from Caymanas, along the North/South Highway or inna chuck-up Fort Augusta nuh...Mek dem laff at yuh ignorance
Yuteman is dem kinda big heavy engineering tings agguh gwaan inna Old Harbour coastal zone.... KMR cyaam hangle dat scale. Yuh mussi tink ah juss container di Chiney dem waan shuffle dung deh

the CHEC project is, first and foremost, an industrial complex with an associated port to support the activities of the zone.

"The port will be a mixed-use facility. It is proposed that it will house the assembly plant for cranes and other port-related equipment. It will also serve as the home base for CHEC's dredging and harbour-building equipment, for use in projects throughout the hemisphere," he stated.
Yuh head tuff eeeh yute.... mi tiyad fi skool yuh now

Mi si Singapore, Dubai and Chiney a enter competition fi di KMR Port.. mi nuh si nuh line fi Goat Island..
That's not comparable. KCT is an established PORT being acquired as a going concern.

The fact that you would equate that port to a greenfield, integrated logistics operation just displays your profound ignorance of this business
Now stop being a claffy.. Old Harbour is sub-optimal to KMR if yuh wanna to be a player in the Global Hub business before 2020..
KCT is a layup...a port with volumes around 3 million TEUs that is attractive to the industry players which can grow the existing business.... nothing groundbreaking there
Mek wi know the investment commitment for Caymanas please... dats critical... Memba mi tell yuh seh money talks

Tell the Chiney dem wid dem US$2 Billion greenfield logistics investment (your investment number) in the Old Harbour zone that they chose a "sub-optimal location"... LOL!! wooiiee

Money talks... Rum Barists juss yap

Unno not doing us any favour with the back and forth argument. its fun to read, but time for serious outlay of proposals with give and take. One-upmanship naah werk.

There is merit to what BOTH of you say and the best solution may well lay in the interstitial crevices of your arguments.

This is about how Jamaica can benefit most. if unno can flesh out the thing here, perhaps by some miracle someone with influence can take it and run with it.
