As a gun owner myself, you do not have to tell me about rule of gun ownership. The fact of the matter, this is a policeman whose job is to serve and protect. The policeman was in no danger he could not have averted with a shot to stop the guy so the victim could be apprehended. Firing 5 shots to the critical mass is overdoing it.

Hell, he could even have fired at his arm. Why was there a need to fire so many shots? You heard the girl was baling that "you didn't have to kill him!"

I can appreciate that move now. If the guy is walking towards you, back out and get him out of the house. Those shots which were fired were not necessary.
