THE LOGISTICS and Investment Task Force is waiting for the World Bank to complete its 2014 Country Partnership strategy that is expected to facilitate the release of funds.
The money is to be used to finance various projects of the task force.
"We are working on developing the master plan, not just in relation to maritime, but also in aviation, jobs, telecoms, trade agreements and other regulatory aspects ... it's multifaceted," said Dr Eric Deans, the chairman of the task force.
Logistics hub thrust
The task force was established in September 2012 on the direction of the Cabinet, to coordinate Jamaica's thrust to become a major international logistics hub.
The Government through subventions and other international development partners funds the various projects of the task force.
Deans said the previous World Bank Country Partnership ended in 2013 and work is now under way to complete the 2014-2017 strategy.
"The strategy would outline the exact amounts that would be for different aspects [of the task force]".
In the meantime, Deans said he could not speak to the cost of the task force's master plan or its period of implementation which he emphasised was also funded by the World Bank.
