Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller has again responded to criticisms that she has not been communicating enough with the Jamaican people, by arguing that she is busy working.
Mrs. Simpson-Miller spoke with RJR News on Thursday morning, following the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.
"There are some leaders who speak to everything... I really need to get some things done and work every day and I work very hard," she said.
The Prime Minister did not directly say whether speaking to the Jamaican public regularly was incompatible with her stated objective of working "to get some things done."
Concerning the government's priorities for 2014, she said efforts will be made to improve community-based approaches to crime fighting this year.
Dissatisfaction with the Mrs. Simpson Miller's level of public dialogue on various national issues has been a key feature of public criticisms of her administration since her return to office in January 2012.
