That was music ,did you know Jamaica had a well known calypsonian (hollywood) known who was the rave of america in the 1950s, when he died over 25,000 attended his death in miami, or was it 2,500, anyway he was our 1st international star.
I am sure historian knows , guess who ?..he died at 25 to 27 y.oTHERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

In February 1955, using part of his middle name, Eugene, "Calypso Gene" was headlining a show in Chicago, Illinois, entitled "Calypso Follies." Wow , mi neva know dat, but still ans my question , different bredda, Calypso was the thing in the 40s to 50s in the states.Jamaica had another superstar then ,who Belafonte copied to stardom.THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

I know he did some calypso and probably other genres back in the day, but I did not remember his name, so I did not know this was him.
