Why stop there, include Independence and Slavery.
Wasn't the economic figures more impressive then than subsequent ones?
Lost opportunity for meaningful change,we would be better off changing the (more)people that engaged in activities to circumvent Jamaica for artificial reasons.
Lost opportunity of creating a politician that is known on the world scene(and for good things).

One of the early success stories of aparthate post sanctions was its profit margins.Multi nationals boasted about this.

History told without context is a lie.Manleys 70s governance was intertwined in the hurricane of a cold war,Angola-Namibia -Zimbabwe was S. Africa vietnam ! fought with the backing of America and Britain.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

This is true...but as maximum leader Manley should have taken into account the horrible fallout from his policies due to the inevitable Babylon/CIA/Seaga destructive reaction...and moderated at least his inflammatory rhetoric

Ultimately the fallout is IMF... AKA... It's Manley's Fault ... why??...

Because Babylon will always do as Babylon does ...it's for us to be smarter in order fi deal wid dem

What was obtained having Michael Manley as leader in the 70's ?

              That was worth the cost..

Yes but it felt goooooood even if it was ultimately unproductive. Kind of like masterbation.

Quite frankly though, the South Africa policies were not the determining factor in our collapse in the 1970. Some of it was the socialist policies but there was also mostly widespread incompetence just as we are seeing today. Young and not so young men (mostly men) with fanciful ideas and not much experience in anything.

Rockman: Where Maudib is concerned I give up. He loves to trot out 'critical thinking' but has not a clue save to unthinkingly parrot the JLP line.

btw - Your reference to 'slavery' was spot on. The vast majority were not 'seen' when economic well-being of 'the people' was being tabulated. Seaga and his JLP cronies did a damn good job of that and also of having the Maudibs believe in their ancestors and selves invisibility in those 'good ole times'.
